lazarus coping strategi - Laddata

This chapter focuses on a metatheory of stress and coping, and advances five main points. Much of what is presented here has been detailed elsewhere (Lazarus and Folkman, 1984; Lazarus, 1966; Lazarus, DeLongis, Folkman and Gruen, 1985). Nonetheless, particularly important new efforts in this area are highlighted. Richard Lazarus and Susan Folkman theorized that coping could be divided based on its function, into problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping. Problem-focused coping includes those strategies that involve acting on the environment (e.g., seeking support from others to solve the problem) or the self (e.g., cognitive restructuring).
